7/18/2002:  The results from the 2002 CTCI International Convention and Concours d'Elegance, are now posted. We will be adding additional pages of photos and information over the coming weeks, so please check back for updates. Thank you to everyone who sent us pictures to include! (If you have any additional pictures that would help us fill in some of the holes in our photo album, please send or e-mail them c/o Mike & Wendy Meehan.)

We hope you enjoy these pages of photos and results! Please visit our Guestbook, or e-mail us, and let us know your comments and suggestions. We appreciate the feedback!

7/5/2002:  The 2002 CTCI International Convention and Concours d'Elegance, "Migrate to the Garden State - New Jersey 2002" is now history! All the little birds have returned home (or are en-route) -- and the organizing committee is catching up on our lost sleep. Please check our website over the coming days/weeks for results and photos from the convention!

6/17/2002:  The 2002 CTCI International Convention is almost here - only 10 days left!

As we come down to the wire, we have some last-minute announcements and reminders:

  • With just over a week to go, there are a number of people who have made reservations at the hotel, but who have not registered for the Convention yet. Please Register ASAP so we can be prepared to greet you when you arrive!
  • There are also a number of people who have registered for the convention but are not shown as having hotel reservations. If you have made other arrangements, and/or plan to stay with friends, that's OK. However, if you plan on staying at the host hotel, you are about out of time! The remaining room blocks have been released back the hotel general pool. So far, the Hilton is still honoring the "Classic Thunderbirds" rate of $96 per night for reservations. But they are entitled to start charging their normal daily rate at any time. We checked, and it's as high as $206 for some of the days!
  • We have lined up a variety of seminars for the Convention. Whether you're a T-Bird novice or an expert, or are just looking to get away from the cars for a while, we hope that there will be something to tempt you. More information is posted here on our website. You will be able to sign up for the seminars at the Registration table when you arrive.
  • For those of you who are bringing young children to the Convention: We have arranged for a professional service to come and baby-sit during the Soapranos Dinner Theater on Sunday night. There will be 1 sitter for every 4 children. Please send us an e-mail at nj2002@njortc.org or call 973-267-2958 to let us know if you would like to sign-up your children.
  • For those of you who are leaving your T-Bird at home and are flying to the Convention: Details and contact information about airport transportation was listed in the Event Calendar in the May-June issue of the Early Bird. It's now also posted here on our website.
The New Jersey Open Road Thunderbird Club is looking forward to welcoming you -- and your "migrating" T-Birds -- to New Jersey. We will do everything possible to insure that your visit with us is enjoyable, memorable, and rewarding. See you soon!

5/19/2002:  The Concours deadline for Car Registrations & Judge Forms was 5/15/2002! However, our online system for CTCI review is working very well, and it's allowing us to process the forms faster than in the past.

So, it's not too late to register your T-Bird or volunteer to judge! But we need to hear from you ASAP!!!!!

5/8/2002:  Both of the tours to Thomas Edison's Lab & Mansion are full -- with waiting lists.

We are pleased to announce that we have been able to schedule an additional tour to the Edison Lab for Saturday, June 29th. This will be a one hour tour of Edison's Lab complex, and will include his labs, office, and the "Black Maria" film studio. However, it will not include his mansion. The bus will leave at 12:30 pm and return to the hotel at 2:30 pm. There is a reduced cost of $13 per person for the new tour.

The online registration form has been updated to include the new tour. If you are mailing in a registration and want to sign up for the tour, you can write-in "Lab Only" by the Saturday Edison Tour, and calculate the total using the $13 price.

5/6/2002:  The online registrations and the "Who's Coming" lists for the International Convention are available again!

5/5/2002:  The online registrations for the International Convention, and the "Who's Coming" lists, will be temporarily unavailable -- until approximately 6 pm (Eastern Time) on Monday, May 6th, due to required server maintenance. The other areas of our website will not be affected. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have any questions, or experience any continuing problems please contact Wendy Meehan at: 973-267-2958 or w_meehan@ix.netcom.com

5/2/2002:  Due to maintenance that is needed for our server, the registration portion of our website will be down for a few hours sometime in the next few days. We will try to post advance notice of the exact period that it will be down. However, if we are not able to post the notice, and disable the links, you might get a "Not Found" error accessing the online registrations and the "Who's Coming" portions of the website (the other areas of the website will not be affected). If this happens, please try again after a few hours!

If you have any questions, or experience any continuing problems please contact Wendy Meehan at: 973-267-2958 or w_meehan@ix.netcom.com

4/28/2002:  Advertising and Sponsorship & Donation information and printable forms (in Adobe PDF format) are now available online. Please note: The advertising deadline for the souvenir program is May 15th! Please contact us if you have any questions.

4/26/2002:  Have you registered yet? The deadline for early registrations is May 1st!

We need to know about you. We need to know about your car, if you're bringing one. And we need to know the activities that you are interested in -- so we can buy your tickets and schedule enough buses.

There will be an additional $20 late registration fee if you have not sent your registration, or submitted it online, by May 1st! Register Now! Please contact us if you have any questions.

4/15/2002:  We have received questions from several people about whether the credit card processing is a secure transaction. Yes! Because our website is designed using frames, the URL for the menu panel on the left is always displayed. As a result, you do not see the security padlock or the HTTPS:// address of the credit card processing site. The credit card processing is safe and secure!

4/10/2002: The first batch of Confirmation Packets were mailed on 3/20/2002 -- to everyone who had Registered for the International Convention at that time. The packets are now being mailed out as new registrations are received. We have heard from a few people that their packets had never arrived. If you do not receive your packet within a couple weeks after you register, please contact us so we can send another copy:

Aileen Corbett (Registration Chairman) at: 973-728-2135 or bcorbett@bellatlantic.net

2/2/2002:  Our new service for processing credit card payments is now up-and-running!  It's safe, secure, fast and EASY to use!

1/24/2002: The host for our website is experiencing some problems with their server and the response has been very slow this week. They expect to have the problem resolved within the next week.

E-Mail sent to our nj2002@njortc.org account is also being temporarily delayed. If you sent us an E-Mail and we have not responded, please re-send it to w_meehan@ix.netcom.com

1/23/2002:  We were using PayPal** to process our online payments for the International Convention.  Unfortunately, we have found that they have changed their procedures for new users, and the process is very cumbersome.  We are currently in the process of changing to another service to handle the credit card payments for us, and expect to have the new system up-and-running within the next few days!

If you would like to pay by credit card, please go ahead and complete your online registration.  When you submit the registration you will be prompted for your payment.
  • If you are already a Verified PayPal user, you can easily process your payment thru PayPal now!
  • If you have not used PayPal before, don't process your payment at this time!  We will automatically send you an E-Mail as soon as the new system is ready, so you can easily process your payment.

1/14/2002: Final Registration Packets were mailed to everyone who had Pre-Registered for the International Convention. If you are Pre-Registered and have not received your packet yet, please contact us for another copy and/or instructions on how to access your registration online:
